Colleague Spotlight: Michelle Lane

We love hearing from our team about their experiences in their role, and today, we’re excited to share Michelle Lane’s story about her career at FME UK&I.  

Michelle Lane is a Patient & Customer Relations Manager who’s been with us for over 17 years. Focusing on ensuring we deliver a personable, efficient, and effective service, she’s a key member of our organisation. Everything Michelle does in her role is geared towards delivering the best experience for people undergoing dialysis, whether at home or in-centre. Her dedication to renal care has driven her to learn more about the wider organisation and how she and her department can support in delivering the company’s vision and improve the lives of our therapy users.

Within Michelle’s role, she also feels lucky to get the chance to speak to people living on dialysis, when there’s an opportunity to do so, and learn from their experiences. She’s grateful to be part of the team helping them through their kidney health journeys. 

As a long-standing member of FME UK&I, Michelle recognises its prominent position and global leadership in renal care. She is particularly appreciative of the company’s efforts to advance innovative solutions and cutting-edge technology in dialysis, always keeping people’s wellbeing at the forefront.

“Learning about the ever-evolving science and biology of renal care is fascinating. Being part of an organisation that strives to bring constant improvements to renal care and dialysis treatment is highly rewarding to me” says Michelle.

She continued, “What inspires me to do my very best each and every day, are the incredible people I get the chance to speak to. People living on dialysis are the reason I’m so passionate about my job, and being part of an organisation that’s on a mission to ensure they have everything they need to live the future they want.”

When asked about the future developments in healthcare, Michelle is optimistic. She’s looking forward to seeing more personalised and accessible treatments, propelled by advancing technologies, which are likely to substantially improve patients’ experience and health outcomes.

As a Patient & Customer Relations Manager, at the forefront of Michelle’s mind is providing services that are tailored to what matters most for each individual. Her passion for patient advocacy and empowerment can be clearly seen in her approach to ensuring people dialysing with FME UK&I equipment at home or in-centre, have the support they need, so they can focus on their treatment – not the machinery. The care and attention she shows embodies the spirit of compassionate healthcare we advocate for at FME UK&I.
